1945
The above article shows 35 men in front of the aircraft with many of them being Officers, particularly those blessed with seats ! Of these, there appears to be two ` Army types `present. The upper photograph has been autographed, one of which is N. Vickers who we already know is the Flight Engineer of the aircraft. I would assume therefore that the others are the signatures of the rest of the crew of seven. I vaguely make out further names as G.McQueen, R.M.Hill and R.G.Greenfield. I would not have thought they would have brought such a large ground crew with them from Blighty so perhaps the ` erks ` on the back row are Kasfareet fitters and mechanics etc. One thought has crossed my mind though. The Lancaster`s crew posed alongside their kite are wearing KD but why does the upper picture show everyone pictured in blues, in July / Sept time ?
Jack Guard wrote on the back of this pic :- " I used to dance with " Miss Kasfareet " Masada Sharabi at many camp dances "
